Plan A Stress Free Christmas Party!
"Tis' The Season!" December is here and in full swing! You're either getting ready to host a Christmas/Holiday party, attending one, or both! The steps to planning will be similar whether it's a family, friends, or office party. Make sure to follow these easy steps to create a stress free and organized party! 1. Set the date Keep in mind that December is a very busy month. A lot of people either travel, have another party to attend or are hosting a party. If you're planning the party for your office, send out a few dates and have your employees choose which date would be the better date. You can decide whether you will be having the party in the office, during business hours, or at a separate location after business hours. 2. Set your budget It is very important to set a number for how much you are willing to spend on the party. Even if you are ok with spending any amount of money, it is still helpful to set a number so that you are not overspending on items that you really do not need. If you decided that you do want to increase the budget later on, then you will be able to. Just keep yourself accountable and write everything down. 3. Create your guest list Decide how many people you want to invite and start writing down the names. if you have a limited amount of space, write down an A list, The guests that you absolutely want there at your party, and a B list, the guests that would be so much fun at the party, but you don't have the room or you're still not sure about. 4. Identify what type of party this will be. Is it: formal casual business themed family reunion Identifying what type of party this will be, will also help with decorations, let your guests know what the dress code will be and it will help set the atmosphere and vibe of the party. 5. Reserve the venue It is never too early to start looking for a venue. December is a busy month. The sooner you start searching and booking, the more options you will have for your party. 6. Plan the menu Will you be hiring a caterer? Are you cooking? Will it be a potluck? or will you have food delivered? You will need to either find a caterer or restaurant as soon as possible, or assign a dish to whomever is cooking for the party. Make sure that you do not forget about the drinks too. Will you serve alcohol? Will it be a BYOB? 7. Music Will you need entertainment? If you are looking for a DJ, it is best to start your search just as early as you do for your venue. DJ's will also be very busy in December. So it is better to be safe than sorry. If you're planning the party at home, feel free to create a playlist! it's all part of the fun. 8. Party Favors Not really a must, but you can have a party favor. If it's an office party, you can take this time to hand out bonuses, or anything nice for your employees. If you're doing it at home, you don't need to have anything. 9. Decorate! It's the holiday season! Go nuts with decorations! It is, after all, the best part about the holidays! 10. Have fun! Stay organized and you will plan a successful party, but if it doesn't work out that way and you find yourself a little stressed out... When in doubt.... Hire Von :)
