Snowed In : Things to do During a Blizzard

Today is the perfect day to write about this topic. Here in New England, we are being hit by a blizzard.... It's really not out of the norm around here. We have definitely seen worse. But what do you do when the kids are home due to school cancellations? We have family fun night! That's right! Here are five fun ways to get snowed in. 1. Netflix + Chill One of our favorite ways to spend our time indoors is by watching Netflix ( or on demand, if you don't have Netflix ) and binge watch movies. I mean literally bundle up in front of your TV, Keep the snacks coming, and watch all of the movies you can handle! 2. Play Games Another favorite for me is board/trivia games! Any type of game, preferably one that requires the whole family to participate. It gets your kids to think creatively, communicate and have fun! Changing up the game and taking a break every couple of hours is probably a good idea. If your kids are anything like mine, they can get bored easily.. 3. Arts + Crafts This one is my daughter's favorite.... and mine. I love coloring, drawing and anything crafty. It eases your mind and allows you to concentrate only on the task at hand. With how busy life is, sometimes we can forget what a relaxing day can feel like. 4. Bake My husband loves to bake. He will bake from scratch as often as he can. Baking in your home during a blizzard will not only keep the house warm, keep the kids ( and your husband ) entertained, but it will keep the house smelling delicious all night. 5. Go Outside + Play in the Snow If you've tried all of the above, but still find yourself almost pulling your hair out because the kids won't stop jumping around or saying that they're bored... then go outside, have a snowball fight, make them shovel some snow, or just build a snowman. Head inside for a hot cup of hot cocoa or a Vanilla Steamer ( Olivia's favorite ) and enjoy the rest of your snowed in family fun night! Whichever way you spend your snowed in night, I hope you were all able to do your grocery shopping and are now sitting at home, safe + reading this blog. If you are a First Responder/Emergency Personnel/Plow Person, Please be safe out there. We appreciate all you do. Your hard work does not go unnoticed! #Snow #snowedin #snowfun #snowman #blizzard #familytime #family #gamenights #january #newengland
