The Ultimate Gift Guide For your Bridal Party & Parents

So you've got it all figured out when it comes to planning your wedding but then you remember that you still have to get presents for your bridal party! "D'OH!" No worries gorgeous! I've got your back! The first thing I will tell you though, is to not freak out! A lot of brides are lost when it comes to buying the gifts. But it is important to remember that: Bridal party should not expect gifts. Couples should not be feel like they need to buy a big expensive gift, especially when you are a couple on a budget. You chose your bridal party, you know them and what they like. It should be a walk in the park! Now, I realize that this is easier said then done, but don't you worry. Below you will find the "rules" of gifting and how to go about it! The "Rules" The bride should take into consideration how much the bridal party is spending on the wedding. This includes, their dresses, shoes, bridal shower, bachelor/ette party, etc. You don't need to cover it all. If you're a couple on a budget, try to keep things as simple and as inexpensive as you can for everyone involved. Planning for a successful gift giving experience Set a budget It doesn't matter whether you have a big or small budget, it's important to set one. You can get a little carried away when you're shopping for others ESPECIALLY when it's for loved ones. Remember that you still have a wedding to pay for! The easiest way to stay on budget, is to buy the same gift for everyone. For example - All of the bridesmaids can get jewelry or shoes. All of the groomsmen can get an engraved flask or cuff links. If you're finding it difficult to buy something that they will all like, then go ahead and purchase different gifts but make sure that you are spending the same amount on everyone AND keeping track of your spending. Another option for gifts is paying for something like hair/make up or bridesmaids dresses. Groomsmen- ties, shoes or socks. Saving them money on one of the wedding expenses is a great way to say Thank you. Think about their hobbies. Choosing something that is based around the persons hobbies or personal life leaves plenty of room for fun and creativity. Gift certificates, in this case, will work too! Don't forget about your Flower Girl and Ring Bearer Even though they are younger, you still want to make sure that they are included too. You don't have to spend as much on them, but gifting something similar to what the adults are getting will make them feel extra special. Timing Think about the right moment to give them their gift. It can be done during the bachelor/etter party, during rehearsal dinner, or on the day of. It all depends on the gift, when you'd like for them to use it and when you feel the moment is right. When should the shopping be done? Just like the timing, there's no right or wrong time when to start shopping. It is always better to start early in the planning process. Starting early will give you plenty of time to shop and get the best deals and not to mention, less stressful! For the parents The best gift for a parent is seeing their baby get married and start a family of their own. Whatever other gift you decide to get them should be a well thought out and personal gift. Something that represents your childhood is always a good one. Something meaningful and that will last a lifetime. The best time to give your parents their gift, is during a private moment. Doing this privately will allow them the focus and attention that they deserve. Sometimes parents can be forgotten about during all the planning chaos. Giving them their moment will show them how much you appreciate them, especially during this time, and that they are not forgotten about. On a final note When in doubt, just remember the four W's When to start shopping. What to spend (budget) What to give. When to give. ( timing) Happy Planning!
